1. What cameras and lenses are accepted for trade-in?
A. We accept most digital cameras and lenses from leading brands, including Sony, Canon, Nikon, Fujifilm, Panasonic, Olympus, Sigma, Pentax, Tamron, Tokina, FTZ, Samyang, Ricoh, Zeiss, Blackmagic, Leica and OM System.
Use the search bar to check if your model is eligible. If it doesn’t appear, you’ll be prompted to add it manually.
2. What do I need to submit to get an estimate?
A.
- Search and select the camera or lens you’d like to trade in.
- Choose the condition that best describes your equipment: Excellent, Great, Good, or Fair/Inoperable.
- Upload clear photos of your equipment.
- Enter the serial number if requested (you can usually find it on the bottom or side of your camera).
- Once submitted, you’ll see an instant estimate of your item’s potential trade-in value.
3. How many times can I trade in?
A. You can submit multiple trade-ins over time. Each trade-in request will be reviewed and valued separately based on the information and photos you provide.
4. What happens after I proceed with my estimate?
A. Our team will review the information and photos you’ve submitted.
Within 2 business days, you’ll receive an email with one of the following:
- Confirmation of your estimate, plus instructions to send in your equipment
- A request for additional information or photos
- An updated estimate for you to accept before sending your equipment for third-party evaluation
5. How do I send my equipment for inspection?
A. After you accept your trade-in estimate, we’ll email you detailed instructions for sending your equipment for third-party evaluation.
Please note: you’re responsible for packaging and arranging delivery, including postage and tracking.
You can use your preferred courier, or drop your item off in person at Ecoactiv’s office:

6. Do I receive cash for my trade-in?
A. This program doesn’t provide cash payments. Instead, you’ll receive a Sony discount coupon that can be used exclusively on the Sony Online Store within 3 months of issue.
7. How does the Sony Discount Coupon work?
A. Your discount coupon is redeemable exclusively through the Sony Online Store and is valid for 3 months from the date of issue.
Each coupon can be used once in a single transaction. Any unused value won’t carry over or be credited, so be sure to use the full amount at checkout.
If you have multiple valid coupons, you can apply them together in the same purchase.

8. Can I withdraw from the trade-in?
A. Yes, you can choose to withdraw from the trade-in at any stage, either before or after sending your equipment for inspection.
Common reasons include:
- Change of mind
- Receiving an adjusted estimate or final trade-in offer you don’t wish to proceed with
If you withdraw after sending your equipment for inspection, please contact Ecoactiv to arrange its return. A return fee will apply
